Continue to visit Lake Wedowee while the weather is nice
Well if you have noticed, we have entered into the last days of summer... Some children have already started back to school and more will start in the coming days.
But, that's not to say you can't still enjoy Lake Wedowee. The locals know that this is one of the best times of year to be on the lake because the summer traffic is starting to dwindle and mother nature has played her part in keeping the lake level in good shape.
We are currently at 790.13 which is still more water in the lake than there ever was last year. So, even though the lake is receding, it is still a great time to enjoy the water.
Gas prices coming down is another reason things are looking up on what has been a bleak economic summer. In the last month, crude oil has dropped more than 30 dollars in less than a month and the pains at the pump are lessening because of that. We are seeing gas prices average $3.69 a gallon around Lake Wedowee with the low price of $3.59 at DP Oil on U.S. 431 north of town.
With all of the signs pointing to it, the worst of the economic crisis might be over. So it is time to kick off your shoes and head to the water because it is still a good time for a swim on Lake Wedowee.
